THE VISITOR

Why are we reviewing a film that is five months old? Because it may be your last chance to catch this gem on the big screen.

A college professor returns to New York to find two illegal immigrants have taken up residence in his apartment.

What follows is a great character study demonstrating humanity and friendship.

A simple story simply told.

The movie The Visitor is a straightforward story of human events that involves four character actors.

They are all effective in different ways.

One thing is for sure, it's nice to see a film in which people are looked at as good individuals.

They may have a few flaws, but there are no human scoundrels for a change.

The civilized element has been expelled in favor of procedures in the system. In this case the system is the villain and the struggle against it forms an important part of the picture.

But when all is said and done, this flick is more about the growth of one man who discovers that the island of solitude is a cold and lonely place.
