Star Trek
fans, like James Bond fans, expect a blend of action, humor,
and good ideas for the characters they know and love.
I think this picture, as a whole, brings
back the excitement of the early days--a long overdue second
wind.
There are plenty of cameos and suprises
throughout, for all the Trekkie purists, and after listening
to them all around me, no one seemed disappointed. I know I wasn't. |
Star Trek
movies have always had first-rate special effects, and this one
is no exception.
However, Nemesis suffers from a
stagnant plotline and a general lake of enthusiasm.
Going for action, rather than its usual
cerebral story makes this Trek film, boldly go where no
one has gone before, and hopefully never again. |
Star Trek
has launched the U.S.S. Enterprise for another intergalactic
affair. The 10th planet to be exact.
Captain Picard leads the Next Generation
crew on a mission for peace and to save the Earth from destruction.
The special effects are first-rate with
top-flight visuals. I thought it was reasonably entertaining
with its action, aliens, and ships in combat looking flawless,
making this new Star Trek movie another thrilling part
of the 23-year-old franchise. |
