The Girl with the
Dragon
Tattoo isn't just a replica of the
original. It's an effective moody / creepy
murder mystery in its own right.
Having not seen the Swedish version, I can
only say the American-made film is super crafted
from a technical standpoint.
You won't forget this film and certainly not the
girl with the dragon tattoo.
She has a tortured past you won't believe and
steals the whole show.
She WILL
win your sympathy!
It's
not often a book gets
made into a great movie; and even rarer when it's
done twice.
But The Girl
with
the Dragon Tattoo has that unique
distinction.
This beautifully filmed murder
mystery thriller starts out looking for a missing
girl, but soon turns into a
historical search for a serial killer with the
help of one of the most
intriguing characters in history -- a female
computer hacker with a mysterious
past.
Rough, bleak, and not for the faint of heart.
David
Fincher, a master of
high cinematic style and violence at its most
outer limits, has directed the
most effective movie version of Stieg Larsson's
Swedish serial killer novel.
The film is about a crusading Swedish
investigative journalist and a antisocial
computer hacker who team up to solve an old
mystery.
Fincher, who directed
pictures like Seven
and Fight Club,
is known for his unflinching vision, and
there's no doubt that the flick will push the
edges of its R rating.
There are
some rape scenes in this movie, and there are
people doing violence to each
other, but that IS the story.
