This week's reviewed movie is:
Children of Men

Gene the Barber

Snick the Sidekick

Gordie the Barber

Children of Men takes place around the year 2027.

Society is facing extinction since the human race has lost the ability to reproduce. There hasn't been a new child born in 18 years--civil unrest runs rampant.

This film combines non-stop edge-of-your-seat action with deep powerful society messages.

It's a genuine thrill ride with a soul and it will leave you thinking.

Films about the near future are either enlightening or frightening, and this one is both.

Beautifully directed, this sci-fi manages to combine great cinematography, production design, and good acting to tell a compelling story about a very bleak future.

The story's visual tension is stunning and makes many comments on contemporary society.

Children of Men takes a look at England in the near future. The movie is set in 2027.

The human race has become sterile.

The film could be classified as science fiction, but its real interest is in examining how different people react to the impending end of everything, and how one ray of hope becomes a tool used for a power grab.

This stance has the country on the edge of a civil war.
