Composition

Constructed by Richard Andolsen as a tribute to the once-and-future Pagrovian resident, John Steinbeck. He holds the book East of Eden.

The house where the statue sits is home to the John Steinbeck Arthurian Spiritual Society (JSASS).

Some of the houses in Pacific Grove are so creatively painted that they could be considered public art. These examples are at the foot of Forest Avenue. Also noteworthy is the house on the 100 block of 12th Street, across from Greenwood Park.
