Dr. Martin Harris, played by Liam Neeson, arrives in Berlin, Germany with his wife for a bio-tech conference, but has to rush back to the airport for his mislaid briefcase.

Then there's a cab accident that puts him in a four-day coma.

After waking up in a hospital, Harris tries to find his way back to his wife, only to have her claim she doesn't know him and a complete stranger is in fact the actual Dr. Martin.

That's about all you should know if you intend to see this film.

So try hard not to think about the plot and enjoy watching him search for answers and beat his way back to total recall.

It's hard to tell whether this is a tribute or parody of Alfred Hitchcock films. It has it all: the McGuffin, the wronged man, the mysterious blond, and a plot so absurd, only the master could pull it off.

There's action, suspense, and of course the payoff -- which pieces together a little too conveniently (for my taste).

It's good, but unsatisfying, for some "Unknown" reason.
The movie Unknown is a complex mystery thriller starring Liam Neeson, who plays an amnesia-stricken American on the run from bad guys in Berlin.

The picture moves along at a fast pace for most of the running time.

The puzzle material keeps my attention, but in the last 20 minutes of the film, once the truth is known, not a lot of what happens afterward makes much sense, and the solution to this action story becomes a little silly and disappointing -- especially the ending.
