SUPER 8

It's about a neighborhood group of middle school kids spending the summer making a super 8 zombie movie.

I found the lighthearted and humorous dialogue shared between the young actors complimented their realistic performances.

If the train wreck scene doesn't end up being the single best use of CGI this summer; then I'll eat my hat!

And the special effects fans have a lot to anticipate.
Writer/director J.J. Abrams takes a nostalgic look at adolescence and the old-fashion monster movie.

It's the summer of 1979 as six teenagers set about to complete the zombie movie they started months before.

With one of the best train crashes ever recorded, this character-driven sci/fi is a valentine to young filmmakers, b-movies, and the hero in all of us.
You know you're in for a cinematic treat when two of the industry's most creative minds decide to dream up some cool stuff together called Super 8.

Written and directed by J.J. Abrams and produced by Steven Spielberg, this PG-13 sci/fi adventure in the old school style, put together to imagine the movies Abrams loved as a kid, including Spielberg's E.T. And Jaws.

It's mixed with homesickness for the filmmakers' wonder years, which were largely spent doing what they are doing now: making movies.

I loved the experience of watching something fresh and original.
