Nowadays, most successful CGI animated films are made for children and parents alike.

Rango is no exception.

It has lots of characters -- voiced by well-known actors plus a good funny story about the old west -- with lots of jokes for guys like me.

I really have to say it's a darn good lizard western for young and old.
Can a disillusioned chameleon really be the hero he thinks he is?

Thanks to an unforeseen accident, he's about to find out!

With nods to spaghetti westerns , Chinatown, and Star Wars, Rango redefines convention.

It's a hilarious mix of action, western lore, and slapstick, with adult innuendo and 2-D sensibilities, and so far it's the best picture of the year.
The ugly lizard Rango is the first full-scale animated feature film generated by the special effects of Industrial Light and Magic.

Great care has gone into the recreation of shots from great American westerns.

The family comedy cartoon is like an overflowing high-spirited love letter to spaghetti westerns -- which has to include Clint Eastwood's The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
