Dexter and Emma, played by Jim
Sturgess and Anne Hathaway, are a couple who meet after collage
graduation and spend the night together in a non-romantic sleepover.
This movie follows them for 20 years and every July 15th.
It shows their personal lives as they gradually drift back together
trying to make something out of their somewhat romantic relationship.
I found the episodes are so far apart in time that the story does not
flow very well; plus I didn't care about anyone.
How about I just didn't get it or dig it? |
Do oppisites attract?
It's the main question in this long, tedious romantic tragedy.
Although it has a great gimmick (checking in on their progress every
July 15th for two decades), it's hard to relate to two such annoying
people that have no chemistry between them.
It has its ups and downs, but not unlike Emma's first apartment, it
smells of onions and disappointment. |
Nothing is quick and simple in this
complex romantic drama.
After their collage
graduation, the stars begin a friendship that will last a lifetime.
This is one of the unusual
romantic flicks in which we know why the main characters are, or should
be in love.
The movie is about two
people discovering meaning in their lives over a period of time and
eventually figure out what they should be doing and who they should be
doing it with.
