This
film is a sensitive look at Marilyn Monroe --
an emotional young actress adored
by millions, but truly loved for herself, by
few.
It's a bold performance that
reveals the complexity of Marilyn's
personality, and full of compassion for a
young lost laddie.
It's not afraid to show what made Marilyn
neurotic, as well
as her selfish side.
Her role is so engaging and complete -- it's
worth all the
short- comings. Well worth watching.
In
1956, psychologically and emotionally distraught
after two
failed marriages and her continued fame, a newly
wed Marilyn Monroe traveled to
England to do a movie version of the hit play, The Sleeping Prince
with
Laurence Olivier.
What follows are the events that happen after she
befriends
the 3rd assistant director to help her
non-professionalism.
Beautifully performed with a top-notch cast.
To
play the part of Hollywood's most fascinating and
tragic big-screen legend,
Marilyn Monroe, the two-time Oscar nominated
Michelle Williams faced the
frightening and challenging task straight on.
In the movie My
Week With
Marilyn, which focuses on the behind the
scenes troubles between Monroe and her
co-star, Laurence Olivier on the set of 1957's The Prince and the
Showgirl, I
think Williams did an outstanding acting job in
her portrayal of Marilyn
Monroe.
